April is National Holocaust Month and like other history months, it should be remembered as a warning for the future. Because the topic is painful even to non-Jews, it’s best to remember that time in some way. Make it a month where you learn and teach others about the causes, circumstances and lessons of the Holocaust. Our book club will be reading “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” during our last month to understand the strife and challenges experienced by youth at that time. We will compare the novel to the movie as we end Book Club for the year.

BOOK CLUB AGENDA FOR REST OF SCHOOL YEAR:
Read beginning to chapter 6 page 66.
April 30th 2010 – meet in the media center during lunch 11:30 – 12:00 ready to discuss the first 6 chapters. (Only 1 week to read 6 chapters)
May 14th 2010 – meet in the Media Center during lunch 11:30 – 12: 00 ready to discuss chapters 7 to the end of the novel.
Monday May 17th – Movie WRAP-UP party in the Media Center Starting at 4:00p.m. You must sign up and get details about the party at May 14th meeting. You are welcome to bring a snack to share with the group.
